RADICAL, IDEALISTIC, LATE 60s VENTURO IN LUUMAKI, FINLAND
I photographed this Venturo in summer 2005. Designed by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen in the late 60s as a mobile summer home for universal use, the Venturo was never mass-produced - due largely to the higher cost of plastic from the 70s oil crisis. Radical, modernist, idealistic, this is one of the remaining examples of the 16 prototypes.
